April Overview- The month of April sees some of the best waterflows of the year along with water temps easing into the prime comfort zone for trout. Throw in the more aquatic insect presence and things are set up pretty well for prime time trout fishing. Caddis & Mayfly in both nymph, emerger and adult patterns will serve you well. Streamers will many times take the bigger Rainbows and Browns especally when waters are colored and higher. Stonefly nymphs, Anytime you can look like a minnow this month will always work especialyy for the trophy trout. Blue quill, caddis adult and larva are good on the native Brookie streams. All of the public Special reg streams and Delayed Harvest streams have good numbers of trout this month also.
